I love how Sam Harris approaches these arguments. Not as eloquent or entertaining as Christopher Hitchens, but more precise.

Here’s Clinton explaining why she’s still in the race when everyone knows she’s going to lose:

My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don’t understand it.

WTF?

Here’s what I think she really said:

I’m still in the race because anything can happen before now and June. Like, for example, Obama could be assassinated in June like Bobby Kennedy was in 1968.

Wow, good point there. Should you stay in the race after he becomes the nominee too? How about after he’s elected President? We all remember that day in Dallas too, right?

Despicable.

ROWE is a simple concept: let people do what they want at work — as long as they’re getting work done. Evidently Best Buy has put the system into place and has increased productivity by 41%

This, like democracy, is another example of a great system that works for the best among us, but fails to deliver for the average. I think this would be great to apply to the stars at a company, i.e. most talent and most self-discipline, but for most in America’s work force it would equate to almost certain failure.

It’s clearly a better system for those who are mature enough for it; I’d love to see it implemented in more places so we can see additional metrics on it.

Is this for real? Rumors are saying the new iPhone will be announced on the 9th and released around the 18th.
