  1. I was going to vote for Paul no matter what. Probably still will in the primary (my state hasn’t voted yet), but you have given me pause to think about the general. I’ve said I wouldn’t vote for Obama because he is a socialist, but you are right, he is the lesser of three evils.

  2. Hey man, I’m seriously considering voting for Nader. Obama won overwhelmingly in my state (Virginia), at least in the east half (the west half, oddly, all went to Clinton). It’s not like it makes a difference, but Nader is like the biggest FU to the dems.

The problem is, they think Nader is stealing votes, but really, voting isn’t mandatory. If this were Australia where voting is mandatory, then I could see votes being ’stolen’ that could have gone to a better person, but if you weren’t gonna vote anyway, then you’re not really ‘throwing away’ your vote, you were gonna throw it away by not using it.

I don’t know, if a write in campaign for paul comes up I’ll consider that as well. I still think Obama should run with Paul because they’d balance each other out really well, though.

  3. McCain thinks we should bomb Iran, Obama thinks we should bomb Pakistan - both believe in using the military to promote our “values” in other people’s countries. There is no reason for a real libertarian to prefer Obama over McCain.

  4. Great idea. I think if more people looked at thing the way you do then dubbya would have been elected out of office after the first go.

There are always idiots out there that don’t see any value in compromise. You can’t do anything about them. I am a registered Dem and wouldn’t have trouble voting Repub if they field a better candidate.

I like some of RP’s ideas, but some of the others…

None of the other Repubs or Clinton are anything more then a continuation to what we have now that is working so well.

If you look at USA’s “war on (insert subject)”, they have all been a failure. We need to change our direction in this country or it will fail.

  5. Sorry! While I think that Obama is the best of the three ‘frontrunners’, I am done with voting for the ‘lesser of evils’. My vote is going to RP.

  6. @ immrlizard; re: “There are always idiots out there that don’t see any value in compromise.”

It is very interesting to note that McCain has a strong history of bipartisanship, of being able to reach across the isle, and of working hard to get a comprehensive compromise to get through Congress rather than do it on his own.

Does Obama have such a proven quality?

The current administration has been plagued by actions that are easilly seen as “unilateral” and it can also be called “sheltered” and even “aloof” of the long term needs of the American populace. McCain does not have that stigma, after years of having worked in Congress. In fact, the fact that Republicans have as a majority voted for him in the primaries is testimony to the shift in the party’s voting base. McCain can and does represent a “new Republican”, and a new direction for their policies.

    Something to consider.

  7. So, it’s “settle” for the lesser of two evils huh? That’s right, forget the dream, just fucking roll over and take it in the ass by the guy with the smaller dick? You pussy. Compromise? Fuck you. The constitution and the bill of rights are not fucking documents of compromise. They are not open for discussion and and anyone who tries to step on ANY of them is a dirtbag like that socialist Barack Hussein Obama. How bout this. If YOU truly support Ron Paul, then you will see that he is just like the founding fathers, who of course remind you that liberty must be refreshed with the blood of patriots and tyrants from time to time. The only REAL reason the world hates us? Because they FEAR us. We rolled over the THIRD largest armed force on EARTH like they were peasants throwing rocks… Scary? Yeah, it is, nobody really realized just how superior our military is until it was demonstrated to the world. I don’t fear war, you sheep forget this country was BUILT on the economy of war. We NEED a good war to get the economy going. The problem is, this SHIT war in Iraq is not profitable for the country as a whole. Civilizations as large as the United States are not destroyed by war. Look at the USSR. We will be destroyed from within, by the socialists, a little bit at a time, so slowy, you sheep don’t even notice how much freedom you have already lost… You sad little man.

  8. Another person sadly taken in by the mistaken idea that Obama is anti-war.

News flash: he’s not. He’s anti-Iraq war ONLY on the grounds that it made it harder to invade OTHER countries which he thinks needed invading more. Every time someone asks him about a trouble spot, he responds that we should intervene. Pakistan not catching terrorists? Bomb them. Genocide in Darfur? Invade Sudan. Unrest in Haiti? Take over their government.

Obama wants to combat “ignorance and intolerance”, “corruption and greed”, and “poverty and despair”. The problem is that he wants do it militarily.

  10. I would never vote for the lesser evil - if you really think Obama will do anything to change foreign policy then you’re in for a shock.. the guy voted to extend the Patriot Act and he’s voted for continued funding of this war.. he’ll keep the CFR agenda going.

No, why don’t you do what’s right and vote for Ron Paul?

Yeah… “nigger” was a pretty popular term for black people a while back, but it doesn’t mean it’s acceptable for a Presidential candidate to use it, even jokingly.

    Ron Paul or nothing!

  15. Ron Paul is getting at the root of the problem, everyone else is content to do a dance and a jig until their time in the spotlight it over. Transparent government! Wow, that’s fantastic! That’s a real change. Change we can believe in.

Forget believing that others will do what you have to do. Take responsibility for yourself. Ron Paul has the only agenda that will truly begin the re-ascension of the country and the republic. You’re in a recession, by all standards save for wordplay and manipulations so the economy doesn’t meet the official definition.

Is this your transparency and legitimacy you desperately seek in Mr. “We’ll fulfill our debts to Africa”? (Check the Google interview to hear him say this) How the hell will debts be fulfilled when people are financially rotting inside your borders?

You can’t have a single person to solve your problems while you watch. You CAN, however, have one person get the ball rolling and rely on yourself and your neighbors to provide the momentum needed to keep it going.

Voting Ron Paul come hell or high water.

  16. One of the absolute most important issues to me is a candidate’s stance on Gun Control. Obama and Clinton (since they are socialist’s deep down) seek to control their constituents and when a government no longer has to fear the citizens, that is complete governmental control. Each Democratic candidate would seek to enforce mandatory gun registration which in turn leads to a very easy confiscation initiative.

While I do admire a number of Obama’s stances more so than McCain, I still can not and will not ever vote for him or Hitlery because of their opinion on gun control.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but we are heading towards a Socialistic society just like in V for Vendetta. Laugh and joke, but it’s true. The Federal government can’t manage FEMA, the war, Social Security, Welfare, but we think they can manage healthcare? HA!

So no, I can not and will not vote for anyone other than RP. Wasted vote you say? That’s your opinion, but at least when the US goes down the crapper, I can hold my head high and say I did the right thing. This is the absolute worst slate of presidential candidates I have ever seen or could imagine.

  17. This is fear mongering. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER ALLOW someone to convince you NOT to vote for YOUR candidate out of fear that SOMEONE else will win! Vote for Ron Paul if that’s who you want.

A vote for Obama is great too, IF THAT’S WHO YOU WANT. But do NOT vote Obama out of fear of McCain.

Assuming Ron Paul has the ability to get just 10-12%% on Election day. That means no matter who wins the presidency. The Ron Paul supporters become the ever so important “Swing” votes for an entire four years. For 4 years every politician will be pandering for that 10% in order to keep their jobs. Whichever side, republican or democrat, can be more Ron Paulish, will get to keep their jobs on the Senate, Congress, and Local governments.

  18. Voting for the lesser of two evils means you are voting for an evil.

It is better to vote your conscience than to vote for what you do not want. Voting for what you do not want means wasting your vote.

Obama’s promised future is not something we want. McCain’s promised future is not something we want.

We cannot support what we do not want, even if it means asking for a theoretically smaller portion of what we do not want.

  24. NOTE: I AM A RON PAUL SUPPORTER. I THINK MOST PEOPLE WHO VOTE FOR OBAMA ARE FUCKING TRENDY DUMBASSES WHO DON’T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT.

But I still might have to end up voting for the douche bag (Obama) anyways. Obama is CFR backed of course and probably immoral as hell. He probably did smoke crack and suck that one dude’s dick. But McCains statement about 100 more years of war is what’s keeping me from voting for him (okay, there’s 3943093 more reasons to add on).

The Democraps who have been Democraps for the longest time who did not even take the time to look at Ron Paul have been so brainwashed by leftwing propaganda that they cannot see through the movement to take a look at the bastards that are backing it and making it all possible.

I have no party loyalty. I might vote on way one day but it’s usually for a damn good reason.
