I agree with you that Ron Paul will not win. This is because most Republicans are stupid and need a candidate who can relate to them. He is too smart.

Hillary will be the next president.

I'm simply amazed that Huckabee has done so well.

I don't see how the once relatively unknown governor of the smallest state west of the Mississippi and who is from the obscure little town of Hope can possibly become president of the United States.

Wait a minute! It's already happened! Maybe it can happen twice.

I think it is more likely that the wife of the first guy from Hope will be the winner.

Huckabee and Clinton would be the most progressive race in decades. But you can't overlook the importance of the running mates. Two pro-life men running against Hillary and Wesley Clark, who I predict will be her running mate, will have a hard time winning more than 30-38% of the female vote.

Right now, the ticket I fear the most is Giulani/Huckabee. They could get more than that 30=38% and have a chance. But I also think we're in the middle of major Giulani nosedive. I wouldn't be surprised if her weren't looking for a way out of this race that will save face completely. I'm not saying that's what he did in 2000. But I think he knew he was smart not to not go against Clinton while he wasn't 100%, something the Edwards family hasn't ceded.

I don't see Huckabee making it past the primaries. Rumour round Houston ( when I was there over the holidays ) is that if he gets too powerful against the candidates the RNC want out, there's a few matters related to his association with Tom DeLay which will knock him out.

Rudy, well, I think his funding mishaps and Mistress-O-Rama will knock him out in the primaries with the values voters.

I think that it's a Romney / Huckabee battle and I think Romney ( being from Taxachusetts ) has a chance of spoiling enough centrist Democratic votes that the smart money's on him.

...As for the other side....

Romney running ( mormonism aside ) as a craven, do whatever-saywhatever would be an antipode to do- whatever-saywhatever Hillary. I'm going to assume that Obama's lack of cinching a single early primary will throw him out.

So there you have it, Mitt vs. Hill. Double consonant battle royale.

And the winner....I'm gonna give it to Hillary by a nose. A hawkish-un-committed-to-out-of-Iraq nose, but still, a nose.

Common people may not know that the moon revolves around the earth but usually have a pretty good sense character. This is why Hilary may lose.

Ron Paul has a very good chance. People need to stop "picking winners" (like you are) and get involved in the democratic process. It's very strange American trait to vote for the politician who is "likely to win".

There's one other factor - election fraud always happens and usually works against the upstart candidate. One starts wishing Ron Paul had some mob connections. Google 'kennedy chicago election fraud', for example.
