My Gaming Idea

  • Well, as for the first issue, that's true -- the regular world needs to be able to "see" the superior items, but not interact with them or use them.

As for the second question, the way that would work is certain areas would be designated as PvP and combat-friendly, while other areas would be social. People could then choose to go into the environment they wanted to at that point, and the local cops/bouncers would keep the peace to varying degrees depending on where you were.

This model works fairly well and is present in a number of existing MMORPGs.

And, why are the women going to go hang out in the virtual bars in their new clothes if the guys there think of the bar as a saloon setting for a gunfight?

I think there's one other problem with this storyline. What's the point of buying that new flashy sports car if everyone else will see it as the generic sedan? What's the point of buying nicer, more colorful clothes if other people don't notice it?
