		<description>&lt;p&gt;Has anyone looked at the architecture for the IA64 (Intel's 64-bit chip)?  It actually has hardware checks in place to prevent certain basic attacks (like buffer overflow).  I've forgotten most of the details, but it's really interesting -- worth some research!&lt;/p&gt;
