Pew: Immigrants Work Harder Than Blacks at Low-Paying Jobs

The public agrees that immigrants work harder than most blacks at low-paying jobs, but the margin is not as wide as when the comparison is made with white workers; 56% of adults agree that most immigrants work harder than most blacks; 30% disagree and 14% say they don’t know.
Analyzing the responses to both sets of questions by the race of the respondent yields some interesting patterns. Blacks are even more likely than whites to say that their fellow blacks are out-worked by immigrants at low-wage jobs. Some 64% of blacks hold this view, compared with just 55% of whites.
There’s a simple explanation for whites not agreeing with the statement as much as blacks: they’re simply afraid to say what they believe for fear of feeling like, or being labeled, a racist. Blacks have immunity in this regard due to the fact that they’re talking about themselves, thus they are more free to say what they really think.

I would point out that there are VERY few people (perhaps as few as zero) who are in a position to judge something like this. In any case, those who were surveyed are unlikely to be among those (again .. if any exist) who have the necessary information to make a valid judgement.

What do you mean “judge”?
It’s a poll. It’s based on how people “feel”. The people polled are most definitely qualified to give an analysis of their own perceptions.
If you’re arguing that there is no truth to the collective feelings that both of these groups have about the issue, as was captured by a no doubt highly vetted polling system, I’d say the burden would be on you to show why we should discount the results.
