Scientists Find a Gene That Predicts Violence

Well, that was quick.
I expected this kind of thing to be a ways off–maybe 5-15 years. But no, the core of many sci-fi plots is now upon us.
So, health insurance companies need to have health data on people, right? And that data is used to determine what types of premiums you’ll pay, right? Well, why wouldn’t this also include whether or not you’re prone to be violent?
Of course, the big one is employment. At some point we’re going to have employers testing for a whole slew of genetic markers that indicate how costly an employee will be to the company.
This could take a while, though–especially since it’s taboo to even test for intelligence in our existing equality culture. Oh, and then there’s group testing. How often do asians have this gene vs. europeans, etc. Crazy.
