When Will Windows Be Ready For The Desktop?

  1. When will windows be ready for the desktop? I’ve been saying this for a while. When I have to use windows, I get so frustrated. No virtual desktops (and the MS powertoy which gives you a virtual desktop is awful). Icons all over the desktop. No helpful panel at the bottom & LHS. Ugh! Its slow. It crashes when you do strange things like (as in the article) close a hung explorer session. I get quite bad tempered. And then there’s the truly awful “shell” (cmd/command window). The question “when will Linux be ready for the desktop” is irrelevant - it is, and has been for years. One day windows might catch up.

KDE is such a fine piece of software!
