There Is Such a Thing as Wrong

Too much these days we as a global society are hampered by a single idea — there is no such thing as a “bad” way to live. I was taught this as a child and I have come to see the incredible harm that it causes throughout the world.

To me there is such a thing as a successful culture, just as there are cultures that lead to the failure of the people who subscribe to them. Sweden is successful, for example, not because of who lives there, but because of what the people there believe, how they live, how they conduct their government, and how they raise children.

When you nurture people in this way, many — if not most — of the people in said culture end up contributing to society in some positive way. This is net-good, and it tends to lead to a successful civilization — whether that’s a city, a state, or an entire country.

It’s The Culture, Stupid

When an inferior culture is allowed in, however, i.e. one that if left alone spirals into a cycle of pain for those participating, the effect is overwhelmingly negative. The problem is not that such cultures exist, it’s that they are tolerated and protected. Political correctness has gone too far in this world — so far as to directly put in harms way millions of people.

Logic dictates that lesser cultures be looked at not as a collection of lesser people, but instead as a collection of children, i.e. people with the same potential who simply haven’t been shown a solid path. In other words, if you grow a child in a good culture, he’s likely to do well in life. If you grow that same child in a poor culture, however, he’s likely to fail. As such, the aim of the caring and responsible should be to ensure that these children do not hurt themselves — that they get back on track by participating in a culture that will lead to their success rather than their failure.

Of course this is a horrific idea to many, and it should be. It’s quite easy to let this become something it shouldn’t. When the powerful begin deciding how the “less fortunate” should live, and what ideas they should embrace, a certain evil gravity begins to form that must be guarded against at all costs.

But my counter is quite simple — not doing anything at all, for fear of being labeled something awful, does infinitely more damage to not only the people who are suffering, but the world as a whole.

Fear

Millions die every year in this world because of abject stupidity. Humans without culture are mere animals, and to let large groups suffer this fate because nobody wants to step up and criticize how things are being done is simply preposterous.

The cultures of the world that have been successful need to step up and end the silence. China is aware of this already, and they exercise this internally as a matter of policy. If they see something inefficient or negative, they quash it. Why? Because it’s better for the whole. Are they always right? No. They have significant issues with how they carry this out. But it’s better than letting negativity and pain fester in the name of protecting the “less fortunate”.

The unsuccessful groups in the world aren’t born that way, and it’s not just a matter of material possessions or natural resources that determine their outcome. It’s a way of life — a cycle. The most good can be done by changing that very core of the problem, not addressing various symptoms. And until we as a people figure this out and find the courage to face the opposition from the well-meaning but horribly misguided moral police, this world will continue to see an escalating level of pain and suffering.

This world’s conflicts and mass-suffering can’t end until the cultures of the world engaged in the cyclical “manufacturing of pain” are actually nudged into adopting a way of life that will lead them from the path they’re currently on. It’s repugnant to think about, to be sure, but it’s the only solution. Letting these groups mature separately from the rest of the civilized world is not an option anymore. The stakes are too high.:
